Even though we were new in town, the Stake asked us - Jeff and I - to head the Night of Nativity Committee for 2010. First task - pick members of the committee. Fun job - but very stressful when you don't know very many people in the Stake, and you've been called very late in the season (mid-November). Luckily, they had records from previous years and previous chairwomen who were willing to help us and give advice.
It was a lot of work, but the outcome was positive. We had a lot of visitors, approximately 33% of which were not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We counted it a success.
The event
For those interested - this event covers 2 days - Friday and Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday were for set-up. Friday was for visitors to come, and we also had a Friday night concert including a performance from the "Sweet Adelines" and a community harp choir. The concert was a great success - with a full house attending.
