The New Me

Catching up

Yes, it has been a while since I last posted.  There is not much news to share.  We are still unemployed, filling out applications right and left.  Can't say why this has been so hard - but we did find out recently that the Spokane area has the worst job market in the nation.  Maybe that has something to do with it?

Yes, we are still in the Spokane area, enjoying the snow and mountains and pine trees.  However, we are willing to go anywhere for a job!  So if you know of something, let us know!

We are all in good health, which is a good thing.  Both of our kids have jobs!  Jeffrey is a teacher for the Navy Nuclear Academy.  Jaimie works at a Dog Day Care facility.  They are happy and healthy and we are very glad for that.

I have taken up the study of genealogy.  I am earnestly reading and studying to know more about it - how to do it right - and how to be organized.  I have joined the local genealogy society - NEWGS - which stands for Northeast Washington Genealogical Society.  They are a great group of fun and helpful people.

Recently, I was hospitalized with a serious case of ischemic colitis....which I understand as a very serious infection in the intestines and colon.  I was in the hospital for 12 days - an awful long time!  I was on major pain medicine, so I remember very little of the experience.  But I am up and about - doing a lot of walking and eating better to help prevent any re-occurrence.  I will be going back to the doctor for a follow up to find out if they need to remove part of my colon/intestines.  Doesn't that sound fun?

Fear not, I am doing very well now.  I feel good, energetic, and revitalized.  I guess that's what 30+ bags of IV antibiotics can do for you!  Along with daily walking and a better diet.  I am determined to beat this thing!
